United Way Garba Vadodara
The first United Way branch in India is located in Baroda. United Way of Baroda has been working for the past 34 years to better the lives of underprivileged people in and around Gujarat by working with local NGOs, communities, more than 150 schools, and the government. The Hindu festival of Navaratri is one of the most respected celebrations in memory of the goddesses Lakshmi, Saraswati, and Durga, commonly known as "Shakti." It lasts for nine nights in the sharada month As a reminder of the womb of the family and the cosmos, prayers are made in Gujarat and dedicated to Goddess Shakti as Garbo. In 1998, the Bombay Public Trust Act and the FCRA were both used to register United Way of Baroda. In and around Gujarat, United Way of Baroda has been assisting communities, local NGOs, and the government for more than 30 years in improving the quality of life for those who are less fortunate. The largest Navratri celebration in Vadodara is known as the "United Way of Baroda.&
